Local Outreach

We seek to be an active presence in our local community and to reach out with the love of Jesus Christ to all around us. Some of the ways that we look to do this are:

Schools

We have connections with two primary schools (Fulwood & Cadley and Queen’s Drive) and one secondary school (Archbishop Temple School). Pupils come to visit us at the Church Centre and our vicar goes on to take assemblies and lessons at different times.

TODDLER GROUP

Every Wednesday in term time, 10.00am-11.30am in the Church Centre we host our Toddler Group. Our vision is to provide a place of support and en-couragement for parents/carers with babies and pre-school children.

Talk English

Also on a Tuesday from 10.00am each week, we have a dedicated team of volunteers from St Cuthbert’s and many other Preston churches who work with asylum seekers and refugees from around the world in order to teach them the language skills that are needed for life in a new country.

Care Homes

We take Holy Communion to a variety of care homes in the area each month - Orchard Court, Brooklands, the Filberts, and Banksfield. We spend time with residents there and listen to their concerns.

Uniformed Organisations

The 5th Preston Scouts and 15th Preston Guides meet each week at St Cuthbert’s.

Food Bank

We collect each month for Preston’s Salvation Army Food Bank to alleviate food poverty in our city.
